Fertility
Fertile result of chicken’s nature,
Producing barring sperm contact.
The egg is fruit, the egg is stature.
I fry those golden ovals cracked
Over a rim. The egg-white dress
The pan is clothed in—hint of tact—
My brain’s defense, protects, suppress.
Blossoming cysts strangle the fruit
Genetics deemed too weak to bless.
